The 19-year-old has been compared to the Everton legend.

Tottenham Hotspur recently allowed one of their talented young players head out on loan until the end of the season. Striker Ryan Loft has been allowed to join League Two side Stevenage until the end of the season.

He has certainly made an early impression on the Stevenage manager. Darren Sarll has been speaking about the imposing striker, who at 6ft 3ins casts an imposing figure for a 19-year-old, and compared him to former Everton hero Duncan Ferguson.

He told the Hertfordshire Mercury:

“Ryan’s a little bit of a throwback to the Duncan Ferguson type striker.

“He’s going to be a real handful, he has got real aggression. The players know that from coming off the training pitch a little bit wounded this week from having to deal with him early on.

“Ryan gives us a different front. At home when I feel like the game is on the cusp of going either way, sometimes we can’t play our way through, sometimes we have to knock down the door and I don’t think we’ve had that.”

Tottenham have high hopes for many of their young players and Loft is no different.

The bullish striker offers something a little different to many of the club’s young strikers but could still be a valuable player in the future.

Being compared to Big Dunc is certainly not a problem. The Everton hero scored69-goals in the Premier League throughout his career and remains a cult hero in the Premier League.

Spurs fans have recently seen Harry Kane emerge from the youth team to become a star player for the club and country.

Loft is of a similar build and style to that of Kane at his age, although may not have the technical aptitude Spurs’ current striker possesses.

Hopefully this loan move can be the start of a bright future at White Hart Lane for the talented teenager.
