Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers lost against Hibernian at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.
Hibernian defender Steven Whittaker returned to Rangers at the weekend for the first time since his departure from Ibrox back in the summer of 2012.
Whittaker was on the books of Rangers from 2007 until 2012 when he moved to Norwich City in England.
The 33-year-old right-back returned to Scotland in the summer transfer window, re-joining his first professional club Hibernian.
The Scotland international defender featured in Hibs’ Scottish Premiership game against Rangers at Ibrox at the weekend.
Whittaker started the game on Saturday afternoon and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Neil Lennon’s side picked up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-2 victory.
The former Norwich defender was booed repeatedly by the Rangers fan on Saturday afternoon, but it seems that Whittaker expected that.

“It’s just the pantomime of football and the way the fans see it, but there is nothing I can do about that,” Whittaker told The Glasgow Evening Times about getting booed by Rangers fans. “I can only affect things on the park and that’s what I tried to concentrate on.
“The manager stressed it was important that we all stayed on the park. There were a few incidents that maybe got out of hand but we managed to keep 11 on the park and that helped us in the end.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon, hosts Rangers had 48% of the possession, took 12 shots of which two were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Hibernian had 52% of the possession, took 13 shots of which four were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
