Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers lost against Hibernian at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Hibernian defender Steven Whittaker has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that Rangers’ home ground, Ibrox, does not have the fear factor anymore.

Whittaker made the comments following Hibernian’s victory over Rangers away from home at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.

Neil Lennon’s side got the better of the Gers 3-2 on Saturday afternoon, with the 33-year-old defender starting the game on Saturday afternoon and playing for the entire 90 minutes.

It was the Scotland international right-back’s first game against Rangers at Ibrox since his departure from the Glasgow giants back in the summer of 2012.

The 33-year-old was on the books of Rangers from 2007 until 2012 when he moved to Norwich City in England.

The defender returned to Scotland in the summer transfer window, re-joining his first professional club Hibernian, who won promotion from the Scottish Championship to the Scottish Premiership at the end of last season.

Whittaker has suggested that Ibrox does not have the same fear factor that it used to have.

“I’m not sure [if there is an Ibrox fear factor like there used to be],” Whittaker told The Glasgow Evening Times.

“We came with a belief that we could win the game. I’m not sure how teams approached it when I was here before.”
