Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has brought Umar Sadiq to Ibrox on loan from AS Roma.

Rangers have signed Sadiq on a season-long loan deal from AS Roma in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old is very talented and promising, but the Nigeria Under-23 international striker is relatively inexperienced.
Former Rangers striker Thompson has shared his doubts over Sadiq, and has suggested that the youngster may not be ready to lead the line for Rangers.
While commenting on Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos and urging manager Steven Gerrard to sign a new player for that position, Thompson wrote in Herald Scotland: “So far, Rangers have only really brought in Roma’s Umar Sadiq that can play up top.
“He enjoyed a productive loan spell at NAC Breda in the second half of last season, scoring five goals in 12 appearances, but he too is far from the finished article.
“What Rangers need is an established striker, someone of quality who can provide competition for places. That is so important to keep the other forwards sharp.”

Need for a new striker?
Rangers do need a proven striker in attack, as Morelos and Sadiq are very young and will make mistakes from time to time.
However, it is not going to be easy for the Gers to land a proven and experienced goalscorer, especially if they are unable to pay a hefty transfer fee and wages.
Rangers have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far and have recruited a number of players, including Nikola Katic and Jon Flanagan.
