Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to sign new Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard’s former Liverpool teammate Martin Skrtel for the Gers.

According to The Daily Record, Rangers are interested in signing former Liverpool defender Skrtel from Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window.
Steven Gerrard, who has been appointed the Rangers manager and will take charge of the Gers’ first team from next month, played with the Slovakia international defender at Anfield.
Former Rangers striker Thompson, who played on the books of the Ibrox club from 2003 until 2006, believes that the 33-year-old central defender would be a good signing for the Gers.

Thompson told BBC Sport Scotland Facebook live about Skrtel: “He is only 33, very experienced, played at an incredible high level. I think he would be a decent signing.”

Good signing?
Skrtel is a very good defender who is playing at a high level in Turkey with Fenerbahce, and the Slovakia international would be a good signing for Rangers.
Having played for Liverpool from 2008 until 2016, the 33-year-old defender would have no problem in turning out in front of 50,000 fans at Ibrox and in playing under pressure at the Gers.
