Odsonne Edouard’s performance for Celtic on Wednesday impressed former Rangers striker Steven Thompson.

Thompson, who was on the books of Ibrox club Rangers from 2003 until 2006, was impressed with the performance of Edouard for Celtic against Rosenborg this week.
Brendan Rodgers’s side got the better of Rosenborg 3-1 in the first leg of the Champions League Qualifying Second Round tie at Celtic Park on Wednesday evening.
Edouard was the star of the show for the Glasgow giants, as the 20-year-old forward scored twice for the Hoops.
Former Rangers striker Thompson was impressed with the performance of French forward and has praised the youngster.
Thompson wrote in Herald Scotland about Edouard: “He is the full package. He has pace, he has power, and he has an attribute that is like gold dust for strikers; composure in front of goal. Just look at his finishes for his two goals on Wednesday night, particularly his impudent chip for his second.”

Showing quality
Edouard played well for Celtic last season, although the youngster did not always start and had to come off the substitutes’ bench on many occasions.
The forward, though, will be a key player for the Hoops this season, and the youngster is already showing what he is capable of and how good he is.
As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic paid Paris Saint-Germain a transfer fee of £9 million in order to make Edouard’s loan deal permanent in the summer transfer window.
