Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers kick off their season tomorrow.
Steven Thompson has told BBC Scotland’s Facebook that he is backing Rangers to win 3-1 at Motherwell tomorrow, but admits he’s unsure how the Gers will do as a whole this season.
Pedro Caixinha’s new-look Rangers kick off their campaign at Fir Park tomorrow and, with nine new signings in the squad, the Portuguese, who replaced Mark Warburton in March, has certainly put his own stamp on proceedings this summer.

But with such wholesale changes come the pressure of them gelling and, given that seven of those nine are either Portuguese, Colombian or Mexican, they could have a hard time adjusting to life at Ibrox and Scottish football in general.
As a consequence, Thompson, who played for Rangers, backs his old side to get past Motherwell but is reserving a long-term prediction about Caixinha’s side until he sees around 10 matches.
“I think Motherwell are going to struggle this season,” he told BBC Scotland’s Facebook.
“Rangers will win the game because they’re stronger than Motherwell. I think they’ll win 3-1, but again I’m not quite sure.
“The jury’s out. I need at least 10 games or so, maybe less to work out exactly what I think of Rangers’ side.”
