Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard reportedly wants to bring John McGinn to Ibrox from Hibernian in the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Record, Rangers want to sign McGinn from Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, who will take charge of the Gers from next month, is considering making a move for the 23-year-old midfielder.
Former Rangers striker Thompson, who was on the books of the Ibrox club from 2003 until 2006, is confident that McGinn will not move to Rangers this summer.

Thompson told BBC Sport Scotland Facebook: “If John McGinn signs for Rangers, I will be extraordinary surprised.”
“I would safely say that’s not going to happen,” added Thompson.

The Celtic connection
McGinn is one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Premiership and would be a great signing for Rangers in the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old midfielder has scored five goals and provided four assists in 30 Scottish Premiership appearances for Hibernian this season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
However, the youngster has linked with Celtic – the midfielder’s grandfather Jack McGinn is a former chairman of the Hoops – and that would make it tough for any move to Rangers to happen.
