Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic will win against Hibernian, predicts former Rangers striker Steven Thompson.

Celtic will take on Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup in a few hours’ time.
Thompson, who played for Celtic’s Old Firm rivals Rangers from 2003 to 2006, has backed Brendan Rodgers’s side to win this afternoon and progress to the final of the prestigious cup competition.

“I think it will be a tough game,” Thompson told BBC Sport Scotland Facebook Live. “I think Hibernian proved that they can go toe-to-toe with Celtic in the league game at Parkhead, but whenever Celtic are given a challenge under Brendan Rodgers domestically, they have risen to it, and I believe they will rise again.”
“I think Celtic will win the match, but I don’t think it will be comfortable,” added Thompson.
“I think Hibs will score and I will go with 2-1 or 3-1,” added Thompson. “That’s vague. 2-1.”

Celtic have the best squad in Scotland and will head into this afternoon’s tie against Hibernian as favourites.
The Hoops suffered a 3-0 defeat to German and European giants Bayern Munich away from home at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
This means that the Glasgow giants will be determined to bounce back, and it will come as a surprise if they slip up against Hibernian.
Hibs, though, are not going to make it easy for the Hoops and could give them a run for their money.
