Steven Thompson has told BBC Sport (21:42) that Graham Dorrans was outstanding for Rangers against St. Johnstone away from home at McDiarmid Park in Perth.

Rangers got the better of St. Johnstone 3-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Friday evening.

Carlos Pena scored twice for Pedro Caixinha’s side, and Dorrans added the third in the 86th minute.

Former Rangers and Scotland international striker Steven Thompson was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of Dorrans.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who joined the Ibrox outfit from Norwich City in the Championship in England in the summer transfer window, started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.

“Graham Dorrans was a stand-out,” Thompson told BBC Sport (21:42). “His quality on the ball is superb, his composure, he’s a goal threat. His contribution has been magnificent since he joined.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at at McDiarmid Park in Perth on Friday evening, visitors Rangers had 55% of the possession, took 15 shots of which five were on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.

The win means that Rangers are now third in the Scottish Premiership table with 17 points from three matches.
