Rangers are reportedly set to shake up their managerial staff with the arrival of Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister.

BBC Sportscene pundit Steven Thompson has backed Rangers reportedly imminent appointment of Gary McAllister as the club’s assistant to Steven Gerrard, describing it as a “good move”.
Sky Sports claim 37-year-old Gerrard has agreed a deal to become the new manager at Ibrox after the club decided to sack Graeme Murty on Tuesday following Sunday’s dismal 5-0 loss to Old Firm rivals Celtic.
It seems as though the Gers board are not hesitating when it comes to appointing a manager this time around, making former Liverpool and England captain Gerrard their number one choice.

McAllister, who earned 59 caps for Scotland and also played for Liverpool, is set to join as Gerrard’s assistant and Thompson believes that adding the more experienced McAllister alongside Gerrard is a good decision.
“Gary McAllister coming as his number two is a great move,” Thompson said. “He was absolutely phenomenal as a player, and his greater experience of management could very well be the thing that Gerrard needs alongside him.
“He’s very savvy on the training pitch and has unbelievable experience, so they could complement each other well.”

McAllister, 53, brings huge experience with him, including an English First Division title with Leeds United in 1991-92, as well as the 2000-01 UEFA Cup at Liverpool. He has managed Leeds, Coventry City and Aston Villa.
Gerrard is expected to take over as manager at the end of the season, with Jimmy Nicholl and Jonatan Johansson remaining in charge for the three remaining Scottish Premiership fixtures.
The Gers are back in action on Saturday as they play host to Kilmarnock, before facing Aberdeen in midweek and Hibernian at Ibrox next Saturday.
