Steven Davis is shining brightly once again in his second stint as a Rangers player.

BBC Sport pundit Steven Thompson has claimed that Rangers ace Steven Davis is currently the ‘best midfielder’ in Scotland as he praised him for his ‘sublime’ qualities.
Over the weekend, Davis helped Steven Gerrard’s side thrash Aberdeen 5-0, with the experienced man playing 76 minutes in front of his Ibrox supporters before being subbed off.
This is Davis’ second stint as a Rangers player and he will no doubt be very keen to use all he has to try and stop their Old Firm rivals from winning nine-in-a-row.
Speaking to Sportsound (30/09/2019), Thompson was full of praise for the manner in which Davis had been performing this term, as he explained what he has been doing right.
“Steve Davis for me now is the best midfielder in the country,” Thompson told Sportsound. “I don’t think 34 in modern football is too big an age. His passing and his ball retention are just absolutely sublime.
“He’s running midfield games for Rangers on a weekly basis. For me, he is the best in the country in midfield, at this moment in time.”

Now that Davis has got some minutes under his belt, a proper pre-season and settled in once again into Glasgow, he is now beginning to showcase his true worth.
He has played seven Premiership matches for Gerrard this season and is now becoming one of the first names on the teamsheet for the Englishmen.
Davis has won the title in Scotland on three occasions, so his know-how in the middle of the park and throughout the season is going to be very pivotal to Rangers’ chancing of lifting silverware this term.
