Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard did the business in his debut for the Old Firm side – and an ex-Glasgow Rangers man likes what he sees.

Former Rangers hitman Steven Thompson has told BBC Scotland that he expects Odsonne Edouard to be a “big asset” for Celtic this season.
The 19-year-old striker joined Celtic on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain last month.
With Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele at the Hoops, it seems unlikely that Edouard would play a huge amount of football when both are fit.

But the young hitman made a great first impression to manager Brendan Rodgers by scoring on his Celtic debut in Friday night’s 4-1 win away to Hamilton Academical.
And ex-Rangers striker Thompson admits that he likes what he sees from the youngster.

“Edouard was always willing to run in behind. He looked calm and composed and he’s going to be a big asset for Celtic,” he told BBC Scotland.
Rodgers’s side face Edouard’s parent club in their first Champions League group stage game next week, though Griffiths, if not Dembele, is expected to be fit for that one.
