Since making his debut in 2002, he went on to make 267 appearances for the club in total with his final appearance coming in the 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the season.
After such a long time at St James; Park, it is unsurprising to find that he is now a firm Magpies fan and has stated he intends to return in future.
And comment on his exit, he says director Lee Charnley told him he is welcome back any time.
“I will be coming back here as a supporter and cheering the lads, coming to the training ground and seeing the boys,” he told the Chronicle
“Lee Charnley was great with that. He said: ‘Look, you’re welcome back whenever you want. For him to say that, I don’t think he’s said that to many players who’ve left the club.”

It will now be interesting to see where Taylor ends up after his contract with Newcastle United came to an end.
A move to the Scottish Premiership has been mooted, with both Celtic and Rangers rumoured to be interested in his services
Should he make the move to Scotland, he would not be the first former Newcastle man to end up there this summer with former teammate Joey Barton already agreeing a move to Rangers.
