Everton recorded a deserved win over Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Steve Pienaar has thanked Everton ‘for the present’ on his birthday as Marco Silva’s side recorded a deserved 2-0 win over Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Toffees, who came into this game on the back of blowing a two-goal lead at Newcastle last time out, produced a forward-thinking second-half display to secure a much-needed three points.
In what was a lacklustre first half, the home team came out of the blocks after the break with Richarlison opening the scoring with a close-range finish. Gylfi Sigurdsson then doubled his side’s lead 18 minutes from time after seeing his penalty initially saved by Kepa.
After the match, former Blues favourite, Pienaar sent these messages about Everton’s win on his personal Twitter account.
It has been a tough couple of months for Silva, who has witnessed a number of poor performances and results from his team in all competitions.
The Merseyside club will be hoping that they can take a massive boost from this win against Chelsea and end the season on a high.
The win and three points against the London club keeps Everton in 11th place, but they are now four points behind seventh-placed Wolves.
After the international break, they will take part in a number of tough fixtures, including playing West Ham, Arsenal and Manchester United.
