David Moyes has taken over as West Ham boss after Slaven Bilic was fired by the club.

Moyes is looking for a chance at redemption after a promising managerial career has gone off track, after his dream job at Manchester United became a nightmare.

His Sunderland side were relegated last year, despite him bringing in a few old faces from his time at Everton, Darron Gibson, Bryan Oviedo, Victor Anichebe and Steven Pienaar.

Gibson and Oviedo remain with Sunderland in the Championship, but what became of Anichebe and Pienaar, who for the first time in years are not playing in English football.

Could either make a shock move to West Ham? Don’t rule anything out…

Steven Pienaar

Oriol Romeu of Southampton and Steven Pienaar of Sunderland compete for the ball during the Premier League match between Sunderland and Southampton at Stadium of Light on February 11, 2017...

After 10 years in the Premier League with Everton, Tottenham and Sunderland, Pienaar moved on this summer and returned to play in South Africa.

The 35-year-old struck a deal to sign with Bidvest Vets in July, and he has gone on to make nine appearances.

He made 17 appearances for Sunderland last season under Moyes. Perhaps he could be tempted by one last payday and Premier League opportunity?

Victor Anichebe

Victor Anichebe of Sunderland looks dejected during the Premier League match between Middlesbrough and Sunderland at the Riverside Stadium on April 26, 2017 in Middlesbrough, England.

Anichebe finished the season as Sunderland’s second highest scorer behind Jermain Defoe.

Unfortunately this summed up the Black Cats’ problems, as Anichebe had only three goals to his name.

The Nigerian moved to China this summer, signing a two-year contract with Beijing Enterprises.

He is being handsomely paid and Moyes may not be able to lure the 29-year-old back to England.
