Steven N’Zonzi decision over move to West Ham or Everton hinges on conversation with new boss

West Ham United and Everton have been heavily linked with a move for former Stoke City midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.

West Ham and Everton are both on the hunt for new recruits during the January transfer window.

The Hammers are in the thick of a relegation battle and David Moyes has admitted he needs more quality in midfield.

Former Blackburn and Stoke star Steven N’Zonzi has been heavily linked with a move to East London but Sam Allardyce has also thrown his hat in the ring to bring the French midfielder to Merseyside, as reported by the likes of The Guardian.

The Toffees look comfortable now in mid table but could mount a late challenge for the Europa League places.

The 29-year-old has fallen out of favour at Sevilla and has also been linked with Arsenal.

N’Zonzi now looks set for an imminent decision over where his future lies and it all hinges on a conversation with new Sevilla boss Vincenzo Montella.

According to Marca, one of the first things on Montella’s agenda after taking over at the La Liga club was to sit down with N’Zonzi and settle his future.

The rangy star has been out of the first team picture in Spain since being substituted and singled out for criticism for his display when 3-0 down in the eventual 3-3 draw with Liverpool in the Champions League earlier this season.

According to Marca, if Montella does let N’Zonzi leave the club will want around £25 million for his services which may point more towards Everton, with West Ham’s entire January budget said to be just £30 million.

N’Zonzi would not need much time to adapt to life back in England as he has over 200 appearances under his belt from his time with Blackburn and Stoke.
