Norwich City-owned Heart of Midlothian attacker Steven Naismith played for Rangers – who won 2-0 at Ibrox at the weekend – from 2007 until 2012.

Norwich City-owned Heart of Midlothian attacker Steven Naismith returned to Ibrox at the weekend for the first time since leaving Rangers in the summer of 2012.
Naismith, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, was on the books of Rangers from 2007 until 2012 and was hugely successful during his time at Ibrox.
The Scotland international won the Sottish league title thrice, the Scottish Cup once and the Scottish League Cup twice during his spell at the Gers.
The former Everton attacker featured for Hearts in the Scottish Premiership game against Rangers away from home at Ibrox on Saturday.

The 31-year-old former Kilmarnock starcame on as a substitute in the 73rd minute, with the Rangers fans at Ibrox booing him and Graeme Murty’s side going on to win the match 2-0.
Naismith has responded to the jeers he received from the Ibrox faithful, and has stated that he always knew that the reception he would get at his former club would be frosty.

“I probably expected it,” Naismith told The Scottish Sun. “I had the wife and kids shouting and bawling at me all week to get me ready!
“It wasn’t the first time I’ve been booed and jeered for every touch in a stadium or when I’m out and about, so it was no different. To be honest, it didn’t matter at all. You get used to it.”
