Steven Gerrard’s Rangers won the Scottish Premiership title ahead of Celtic last month, and a new list has shown that the Gers beat the Hoops in social media activity as well.
Rangers had more than two million interactions on Twitter in March 2021, according to sport management experts Deportes & Finanzas.
The Gers were ahead of Premier League leaders Manchester City, with bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic not even making making the top 10.
As the following tweet shows, Barcelona led the charts with 13.7 million Twitter interactions. Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Arsenal all make the list.
Rangers are a club on the up. Under Liverpool legend Gerrard this season, the Gers also reached the Europa League Round of 16.
As for Celtic, the Hoops’ hopes of winning the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th year in a row were dashed this season.
The Hoops are also on the hunt for a new manager following the departure of Neil Lennon in February.
Celtic need a rebuild in the summer, while Rangers have a strong team who will be confident of winning the title again next season.
