Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are close to bringing Kemar Roofe to Ibrox, accordig to HLN.

It has been reported that Rangers are in advanced talks with Anderlecht over the transfer of the former Leeds United striker this summer.

The report has claimed that the Belgian club are willing to sell Roofe to Rangers, with the striker to sign a four-year contract with the Gers and a deal is imminent.

Stats

Roofe joins Anderlecht from Leeds in the summer of 2019 and has had injury problems.

According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old scored six goals in 13 Jupiler League games and scored one goal in two cup ties for the Belgian club this past season.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the striker scored 15 goals and provided two assists in the Championship for Leeds, and scored 11 goals and provided three assists in the league for the Whites during the 2017-18 season, according to WhoScored.

Good signing for Rangers?

Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe are the two main strikers at Rangers at the moment, and manager Gerrard could do with another experienced player for that position.

Roofe is a very experienced striker who did well during his time at Leeds, and the 27-year-old would make the Gers more potent and fearsome in attack.
