Rangers double loans for Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis are working, but slowly.

Rangers put their best foot forward against Dundee last night.
Notably the starting line up did not include senior pro’s Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis.
Both players signed on loan deals in January. The pair were supposed to fire Rangers to the title.
The excitement which greeted their arrival was dampened straight away with a 2-1 loss at Kilmarnock in January.
Rangers left both players on the bench for last night’s game.
It showed that Defoe and Davis need time to make an impact.

Defoe is on a 18 month deal, while Rangers hope to sign Davis on a permanent deal in the summer.
Both players could be integral to Rangers’ title hopes next season.
Going into last night’s game, Rangers were eight points off the pace.
The excitement was premature over the pair’s arrival, but the duo could still have a big impact.
Gerrard is managing them sensibly, and handing the reins to younger players.
Rangers are blessed to have strong options like Glen Kamara and Alfredo Morelos, so that they don’t have to rely on Davis and Defoe is they are not yet fully up to speed.
