Rangers have been linked with two central midfielders in the past week.

Recent reports suggest that Steven Gerrard is desperate to bring a central midfielder to Rangers in the January transfer window, with two stars being linked with a move to Ibrox in the past week.
The Daily Mail claims Rangers remain interested in 22-year-old Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara, who continues to impress in a side that are struggling near the bottom of the Scottish Premiership.
The former Arsenal trainee has turned out 52 times since joining Dundee last summer, and has even captained the Dark Blues twice in his six league and cup appearances this season – as well as adding two assists.
Kamara, who managed one senior appearance for the north Londoners, has also been linked with Celtic and Sunderland, with the latter currently managed by Jack Ross who helped St. Mirren gain promotion to the top flight last season.
But the signing of Kamara would be a risky one for Gerrard. Indeed, Greg Docherty impressed at Hamilton before joining Ibrox in January and he has already been sent out on loan.
Rangers boast a whole host of central midfield talent, especially after bringing Lassana Coulibaly, Ovie Ejaria and Scott Arfield to Ibrox in the summer. An established, proven midfielder needs to be signed to make a difference.
The Daily Express have claimed in their print edition that Rangers could make a move for former Ibrox star Steven Davis, after the 33-year-old has fallen out of favour with Southampton.
He has managed just three appearances for the Saints, with Stuart Armstrong’s move from Celtic pushing the 103-time Northern Ireland international closer to the exit door.

Though Davis is more than a decade Kamara’s senior, stamina has always been his strong suit and he certainly has plenty left in the tank to perform at the highest level for another three or four seasons. His contract ends next summer.
Davis clocked up 200 appearances for Rangers during his time at Ibrox and he knows exactly what it means to be a Ger. Bringing him back to Rangers would give Gerrard an excellent option in midfield, and certainly would not be a risk.
That makes him a much better option than Kamara, who is yet to be proven at the highest level whereas Davis already has three Scottish Premiership titles to his name. Davis would be a much better acquisition than Kamara.
