Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers signed Ryan Kent from Liverpool on loan in the summer of 2018.

Kent joined Rangers on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Liverpool in the summer of 2018.
The 22-year-old winger has been superb for the Gers so far this season and has established himself as an important player in the Rangers team.
According to WhoScored, the youngster has made 21 starts and two substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season, scoring six goals in the process.
Rangers manager Gerrard wants to retain the services of Kent for the 2019-20 campaign, but the former Liverpool midfielder has admitted that the Ibrox club will not be able to afford to sign the winger on a permanent contract.

Gerrard told The Scottish Sun about Kent: “I think it would unlikely be a permanent move. The numbers being spoken about, I’m out.
“I would be more confident about getting him back on a loan. If Liverpool wanted to sell him, that’s out of my hands. We’ll have to wait and see.”
The Rangers manager added: “Our supporters need to know I’m doing everything I can to make sure he is here next year because he is one of the people I want to build the team around.”
Rangers stay?
Given how strong Liverpool’s squad is, it is unlikely that Kent will be able to break into Jurgen Klopp’s first team next season.
It will make sense for the young winger to continue his progress and development at Rangers and extend his loan spell at Ibrox.
