Rangers are looking to keep midfielder Ryan Jack at Ibrox.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told The Scottish Sun that he thinks midfielder Ryan Jack ‘deserves’ a pay rise to stay at Ibrox.
The Gers swooped to sign Jack on a free transfer from Aberdeen in 2017, with Pedro Caixinha luring him over to Ibrox in a deal that divided opinion a little at the time.
However, Jack has been superb for Rangers, particularly since Gerrard arrived as manager, taking his game to another level under the former Liverpool man.
Jack has hit just one goal this season and only four goals and five assists last season, but his game is far more than contributing goals and assists.
Of course, those are nice – particularly the winner against Celtic last year – but he’s a consistent performer in the Rangers midfield, he’s committed, hard-working and can calmly keep the play moving.
Gerrard unsurprisingly sees the 27-year-old as an absolutely key player at Ibrox, and he has now admitted that he wants Jack to be given a new contract.

Gerrard believes that if anybody at Rangers deserves a pay rise, it’s Jack, and with The Scottish Sun claiming that he has been offered a ‘bumper’ new deal, it seems that Gerrard’s wish may well come true.
“He deserves that,” said Gerrard. “Ryan is on record saying that and he is working with a group of staff who have confidence and belief in him. If anyone deserves a pay rise and an extension, it is him. He has earned the right to have that shirt and Jacko’s mentality is, ‘No one will take this off me.’ ” he added.
