Steven Gerrard has labelled Leeds United’s Elland Road as ‘fantastic’, as he told his Aston Villa press conference.
The Villa boss added that Leeds fans ‘get right behind the team’ and he expects them to do so on Thursday night.
Jesse Marsch takes charge of his first home game as Leeds United’s new boss, with Villa hoping to dampen the mood further in Yorkshire, after their recent barren run and defeat to Leicester over the weekend.
The last time these two met was last month when they enthralled and entertained all with an all-action 3-3 draw.
That’s when Marcelo Bielsa was in the dugout and Marsch will be hoping for something more controlled tomorrow night, as Gerrard shared his thoughts on Leeds.
“It’s always tough there,” said Gerrard. “It’s a fantastic stadium and the fans get right behind the team.
“I’m sure they are ready to get right behind the manager, so we need to be ready for that.”

Aston Villa’s front-foot style will suit Leeds because it will allow them to feed off the Midlands side.
But, the problem that they face is that this Villa team has started to hit some form of late.
They have picked up back-to-back wins, back-to-back clean sheets, including demolishing Southampton 4-0 last time out.
Either way, if there aren’t a few goals in this one, then it will be a surprise because this fixture never fails to deliver.
