Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has suggested that he does not plan to sign any more players in the January transfer window, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.

The Gers have been quite busy this month, and have signed striker Jermain Defoe and midfielder Steven Davis on loan from Bournemouth and Southampton respectively.

Rangers have also secured the services of midfielder Glen Kamara and winger Jordan Jones on pre-contract agreements.

Gerrard, who was appointed the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018, has suggested that he does not plan to bring any more players to Ibrox this month.

The Scottish Sun quotes Gerrard as saying: “No, I think we’re content, we’re satisfied. I’d be surprised if anything happens so we’ll go with what we’ve got. I’m very happy.

“We’ve got enough depth, we’ve got enough numbers and we’ve got enough quality. The challenge for us now is can we find consistency?”

Keeping options open

Gerrard seems happy with the squad that he has at Rangers at the moment, but perhaps the former Liverpool midfielder should keep his options open for the final few days of the January transfer window.

After all, with Rangers very much in the race for the Scottish Premiership title race, Gerrard could do with one or two more quality additions to his squad in order to enhance the chances of winning the championship.
