Glasgow Rangers appeared to pull off a major coup by bringing Joe Aribo to Ibrox this summer.

Steven Gerrard has told Rangers’ official YouTube channel that Joe Aribo has taken the Gers’ midfield to a new level with the 23-year-old bringing something different to the table to the likes of Ryan Jack and Steven Davis.
The Light Blues seemed to pull off a massive coup during the summer when it was announced that Aribo had made the move to Ibrox after his contract with Charlton Athletic expired at the end of last season.
The 23-year-old has made an incredibly impressive start to life with Rangers, scoring three times in his first seven appearances. And along with Davis and Jack, the Gers midfield produced an outstanding performance in the emphatic 6-1 win against Hibernian at the weekend.

And when asked about the balance that his side now have in the middle of the park, Gerrard hinted that Aribo had provided the previously missing piece of the jigsaw.
“I think we’ve got five midfielders at the moment, who are all different. But we have got a nice blend. Joe Aribo’s took our midfield up another level because he’s different to what we had. That left-footer, big, tall profile who can do different things to Jack, Davis and Kamara,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.

Aribo appears to have the potential to be Rangers’ most inspired signing from an incredibly productive summer. He is exciting the Ibrox faithful with his contributions in the middle of the park, and only Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos have scored more goals so far this term.
And with Jack picking up where he left off last season and Davis enjoying a purple patch after an arguably underwhelming start to his second spell at Rangers, it is little surprise that Gerrard is so pleased with the options that he has at his disposal.
