Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers head into their match against St. Johnstone after drawing with Villarreal in Europe.

Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard looks on prior the UEFA Europa League Group G match between Villarreal CF and Rangers at Estadio de la Ceramica on September 20, 2018 in Villareal, Spain.

Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has hinted on his side’s official website that he’ll make changes at the weekend, after the light Blues’ heroics in the Europa League last night.

Rangers came from behind twice yesterday to claim a point against Villarreal in Spain.

Rangers went into the tie as heavy underdogs, but they produced a superb second half performance to avoid defeat.

Gerrard sent on both Graham Dorrans and Glenn Middleton in the second half, and the pair had a big impact.

And the Rangers boss has now hinted that they both could start against St. Johnstone on Sunday.

He said: “You saw Graham Dorrans come on for a cameo and went on one of those mazy runs which almost opened the door for us to win the game.

“It was just immense quality and Glenn Middleton came on to help set the goal up. That is what we need from our subs and the 11. You will see a few changes before the weekend, and come the end of the season, everyone will have enough appearances to be happy with. They just have to trust me when they are in or when they are out they have to be ready.”

Some of Rangers’ players were struggling with fatigue towards the end of the contest, such were their efforts in the contest, so it is hardly surprising that Gerrard wants to make alterations.

If Middleton and Dorrans do come in then the pair are likely to be keen to impress.

Both Middleton and Dorrans have watched a lot of this season from the sidelines, but the pair seem to have the ability to become starters for Rangers.

Gerrard’s side could move up to second in the Scottish Premiership table if they are able to win at the weekend, and other results go in their favour.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.
