Glen Kamara stole the show for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers today.

Glen Kamara of Rangers takes on Scott Sinclair of Celtic during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park on March 31, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Steven Gerrard has admitted that he still can’t believe Rangers signed Glen Kamara for only £50,000.

Rangers were originally supposed to get the former Dundee midfielder on a Bosman this summer, having signed a pre-contract agreement in January.

But the Gers stumped up a five-figure sum to sign him in the winter instead and it looks like a brilliant decision.

Kamara has slotted into Gerrard’s side seamlessly, and posted arguably his finest performance to date in the 3-1 win at Hearts this afternoon.

Gerrard told The Daily Mail today: “You’ve got Kamara who’s an absolute steal for £50,000, I can’t believe we got him. He’s going to be an incredible player if he keeps learning.”

Kamara, a former Arsenal product, already looks like an a top-class addition and Gerrard is right, for £50,000 it is ‘an absolute steal’ in the modern climate of transfer fees.

Given Gerrard’s own playing career, it’s a ringing endorsement from the Liverpool legend to talk up the 23-year-old like this and Rangers fans will be excited to see him develop under the former midfielder.
