Steven Gerrard has claimed that Rangers are actively trying to improve in all areas, on and off the pitch.
Gerrard is enjoying an impressive third season in charge of Rangers, who are on course to halt Celtic’s run of successive Scottish Premiership titles at nine and progress again to the Europa League’s latter stages.
Speaking via the Gers’ official Youtube channel on Wednesday, the Liverpudlian expressed a belief that his side is in a far better state than when he found it, adding that it is now “littered with big assets”.
But the hard work won’t stop there, according to Gerrard.
“We’re still actively looking in the recruitment department to keep improving the personnel of the squad,” he said. “We’re still overseeing the academy to keep making it better down there as well and alongside that, we’re trying to make the training ground and the stadium better, fresher, up to date.
“It’s a constant thing to try and keep improving the club in all departments really.
“And it’s fantastic to have [the Rangers sporting director] Ross [Wilson]’s support in all them areas. And more importantly, above us is the board as well.
“The dialogue, the communication and the togetherness to try and keep improving this club for the supporters is ongoing.”

Rangers are neck-and-neck with Thursday’s opponents Benfica in Group D of the Europa League, edging the Portuguese giants on head-to-head.
But the Gers, who were denied a shock win by a late leveller in Lisbon, can put some daylight between them with a victory at Ibrox.
Benfica could travel to Glasgow without nine senior players through illness, injury, suspension and ineligibility, according to Record.
