Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers new boss Steven Gerrard has been taking charge of training for the first time this week.

Gerrard took charge of Rangers’ training for the first time last week, as he got the grips with his squad.
Rangers appeared a fragmented group towards the back end of last term, with plenty of reports of dressing room unrest spreading.

But Gerrard has called for unity at Rangers next season, as he prepares to take charge of the Ibrox side for the first time.
“The most important thing is for the players to get used to me and my staff and for the staff to get used to the players and start building relationships,” Gerrard said.
“We said to the players it is important we become one, we become a group and there are no cliques
“We are all after the same thing and that is success.
“The best way for us to do that is to fight for each other and pull in the right direction.
“Togetherness and team spirit, all these buzzwords you hear most pre-seasons, are what we’re looking for.”

Gerrard is currently in Spain with Rangers, as they look to sharpen up for what could be a lengthy season.
Rangers are back in training early, with Gerrard keen to assess what talent he already has in his group.
Rangers have already been busy in the transfer market, bringing a host of players to Ibrox, to bolster Gerrard’s options for next term.
The Light Blues finished in third place last season, and will be determined to improve on that standing next time around.
