Rangers were held to a frustrating draw by Hibernian last night.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard spoke to reporters after last night’s 0-0 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road, and praised his side for their performance, suggesting that they were nearly perfect defensively, as quoted by Sky Sports.

The Gers surrendered top spot in the table after last night’s draw, and their bitter rivals Celtic now once again sit at the summit, one point clear of Gerrard’s men.

The former Liverpool and England skipper has worked wonders during his time in charge at Ibrox, and his Rangers side are now considered to be serious contenders for the league title.

Gerrard spoke to reporters after his side’s disappointing stalemate with Hibs, and still found the time to praise his team, especially from a defensive perspective, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“I’m absolutely delighted with the performance. Our performance tonight was excellent. Defensively excellent, perfect nearly.”

Next up for Rangers is a trip to St Johnstone on Sunday, before they face back-to-back home games against Hibernian and Celtic respectively, and a return of nine points from those outings would ensure that they head into the winter break on top of the pile.
