Rangers cannot afford to lose at home to Villarreal in the Europa League tonight.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard spoke to reporters yesterday, ahead of his side’s vitally important Europa League clash with Villarreal at Ibrox tonight, and suggested that he senses his players are ready to turn in a big performance, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Gers are currently in the midst of a fine run of form, having won three consecutive league games, and Gerrard will be hoping that his players translate that domestic form to the Europa League.
Rangers currently sit in third spot in their Europa League group, but a win against the Spaniards could take them top of the pile.
Gerrard has undoubtedly transformed Rangers into a really competitive side this season, and he deserves great credit for taking them this far in the competition already.
The Gers boss addressed the media yesterday, and shared how confident he is in his side’s hopes of beating Villarreal tonight, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“The training coming into this game has been really good and strong, so I sense the players are ready and this is the stage where we all want to be and this is the type of opposition we want to test ourselves against.”
Rangers will have to be at their very best, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating the Spaniards, and if Ibrox is rocking, they have every chance of doing just that.
