Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers recently appointed Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as the new Gers’ boss.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has told The Scottish Sun that he has been surprised at the number of Ibrox fans he has already met so far.

Liverpool legend Gerrard was recently appointed as the Rangers manager, and the former England international has also started in his role.

The Daily Record has claimed the former Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder has been scouting for players at the Toulon Tournament in France.

Gerrard has admitted that he has been surprised at the number of Rangers fans he has bumped into so far already.

“I’ve not been surprised at the level of interest, no,” Gerrard told The Scottish Sun. “I knew all about Rangers from the outside.

“I’m surprised how many Rangers fans I’ve bumped into so far, though! I was in Dubai on a family break. The support and welcome I’ve had has been superb.”

Exciting times ahead for Rangers

Rangers have failed to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title for the past two seasons and could not even finish second in the league table.

The arrival of Gerrard has created a certain buzz around Ibrox, and the Gers’ fans must be looking forward to the next season.

While it is unlikely that Rangers will win the Scottish Premiership title next season, the Gers should try to at least close the gap on Brendan Rodgers’s side.
