The Gers suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Young Boys away from home in Europa League Group G on Thursday evening.
Rangers took the lead in the 44th minute through star striker Alfredo Morelos, but the hosts restored parity through Roger Assale just five minutes into the second half.
Then in the third minute of injury time, Christian Fassnacht scored the winner for the home team.
Rangers manager Gerrard has shared the message he gave to his players at half time, and it seems that they did not listen.
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun: “We took the lead after the first time in the game when we showed some belief and really backed ourselves in the final third. We then had another chance right after our goal.
“But we said to our boys at half-time: ‘expect a reaction,’ and then we conceded at a really poor time.
“We haven’t been outplayed or faced a piece of brilliance. It was from us and we gifted them a way back into the game.”

Bouncing back
The defeat to Young Boys will have come as a disappointment to Rangers, but the Gers need to put the loss behind them and focus on their next game.
Rangers will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Hamilton Academical at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
