Rangers take on Frankfurt in the Europa League final on Wednesday night in Seville – and Steven Gerrard posted a five-word Instagram post. He wished his side luck ahead of the clash, using his Gers trademark “Let’s go”.
Gerrard left Rangers for Premier League club Aston Villa before Christmas – after almost four years in the job. He turned a recently-promoted side, struggling to keep pace with Celtic, into unbeaten Champions in 2020-21.
Van Bronckhorst might not have won the league, but he could potentially go one better and win the Europa League final – if they beat Eintracht Frankfurt. They have seen off Dortmund, Leipzig and Braga, among others.
With the countdown to the final now in its final hours, Villa boss Gerrard wished his old side the best of luck against their Bundesliga opponents. He took to Instagram to post a five-word message to the Glasgow giants.

Gerrard wishes Rangers luck in UEL final: Can they win?
This is an enormous game for Rangers. Not least, because it is winning the Europa League – and righting the wrongs of 2008 – but also because it means they will be in the Champions League group stages in the 2022-23 season.
Keeping the likes of Daichi Kamada and Filip Kostic quiet will be key to any chance of Rangers securing a result. But they also have the competition’s top goalscorer and their captain, in ‘unbelievable’ James Tavernier.
Another boost, is that Kemar Roofe will be available to play in the huge final – while Aaron Ramsey has a couple of games under his belt prior to this. Van Bronckhorst as options, as Rangers take on Frankfurt.
