Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard says that he has spoken to Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers about becoming the Gers’ manager.

The former Liverpool and England international midfielder has revealed that he has held talks with Rangers and plans to speak to the Gers again this week.
Gerrard said on BT Sport 2 on Tuesday evening (7:03pm, May 1, 2018): “Yeah, there’s truth in the rumours. I have held initial talks with Rangers, and the plans are to pick them up in a couple of days’ time.”
When asked if he is confident that he will be the next Rangers manager, the Englishman said: “We will see.”

Speculation rife
Speculation over Gerrard becoming the Rangers manager has been rife in recent days, with BBC Sport reporting on April 29 that the Gers were confident of appointing him.
A report in The Daily Star earlier today claimed that Gerrard has accepted the manager’s job at Ibrox and will bring his former Liverpool teammate Gary McAllister as his assistant.

Bold appointment
Gerrard is the manager of the Liverpool Under-18 side at the moment and has been in the role since the summer of 2017.
It will be quite a bold appointment from Rangers, given that the former England international does not have any first-team management experience, but it could well pay off.
