Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants to sell Alfredo Morelos quickly, according to The Scottish Sun.
It has been reported that Rangers could offload Morelos before the international break, which is after this weekend’s round of fixtures.
Lille remain interested in the 24-year-old striker despite having four bids turned down by the Gers, and manager Gerrard believes that it would be best for all parties if the Colombia international’s ‘departure can be sealed quickly’.
Morelos – described by legendary Italian manager Fabio Capello as “a very strong player, both physically and technically” in The Sunday Post at the weekend – was left out of the Rangers squad for the Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock at Ibrox this past Saturday.
No big loss for Rangers?
Morelos is an important player for Rangers and has been the Gers’ main source of goals in recent years.
However, Gerrard has more attacking options now in his squad following the signings of Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten in the summer transfer window.
Jermain Defoe is still at Rangers, meaning that even if Morelos is sold this summer, the Gers will still have three quality senior strikers to pick from.
