Glasgow Rangers midfielder Josh Windass has been linked with moves away from Ibrox, with Cardiff City and Burnley reported to be interested in the Gers’ midfielder, but new manager Steven Gerrard is claimed to want him to stay.
It has been reported that Liverpool legend and new Rangers manager Gerrard spoke to Windass face-to-face in Dubai last month, and urged him to remain at the Gers for the 2018-19 campaign.
The former England international midfielder has also reportedly told Rangers’ director of football Mark Allen not to encourage any bids for the 24-year-old midfielder.
According to The Scottish Sun, Premier League duo Cardiff City and Burnley want to secure the services of the former Accrington Stanley star in the summer transfer window on a £3 million deal.

Windass is a very good midfielder, and although there have been issues with his consistency, there is no doubt that the midfielder is an asset to Rangers.
Gerrard would be wise to make the 24-year-old midfielder a key figure in his team next season, as the Gers aim to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.
