Tottenham Hotspur dumped Ajax out of the Champions League last night.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told Rangers TV that he loved Mauricio Pochettino’s emotional celebrations as Tottenham Hotspur beat Ajax on Wednesday night.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, Tottenham needed a fightback in Amsterdam – but fell behind early on the night as Matthijs de Ligt powered home a fine header.
Hakim Ziyech’s powerful left-footed strike put Ajax 2-0 up on the night and 3-0 up on aggregate, seemingly dumping Spurs out of the competition.
However, Lucas Moura scored a quickfire brace to bring Spurs level on the night, and they needed just one more goal to make it through to the final on away goals.
Jan Vertonghen hit the bar and had a shot cleared off the line, but Spurs did find their goal in the 95th minute, with Moura firing home from just inside the box to set up a Champions League final clash with Liverpool.
Tottenham players and fans went absolutely wild, and boss Pochettino was clearly emotional, crying on the pitch as well as when speaking to the media after the game.

Now, Rangers boss Gerrard has hailed Tottenham’s performance, and loved the outpouring of emotion from Pochettino, believing it just showed how much football means to everyone invovled.
“I mean, what a performance from Spurs,” said Gerrard. “And just to see the emotion and the reaction from Pochettino, I think it shows that football means to everyone,” he added.
Derby County boss Frank Lampard has today added that everyone should take inspiration from both Liverpool and Tottenham after their comebacks, in what has been a great week for English football.
