Glasgow Rangers produced a stunning victory at Ibrox, with Jermain Defoe amongst the goalscorers.

Steven Gerrard has told Rangers’s official website that playing in the same team as Gers loanee Jermain Defoe is a midfielder’s dream as the January signing bagged another goal at Ibrox.
The Light Blues thrashed Dundee 4-0 on Wednesday night. But while the scoreline was comfortable, most of the damage was done in the first-half and Gerrard was left disappointed with his side’s second-half display.
Their only strike after the break came in the 89th minute as second-half substitute Defoe smashed the ball home for his fifth goal in nine appearances for the Gers. It is an excellent record given that the Ibrox faithful have probably not quite seen the best of the former England international just yet.
But Gerrard was full of praise for Defoe after the full-time whistle, insisting that he is the ideal player to have in the side.

“It doesn’t matter whether Jermain plays 90 minutes or 60 or 30, we want him to be a goal threat and his movement is fantastic,” he told the club’s official website.
“I used to love playing with him; he’s a dream for a midfielder because his movement tells you where to play the ball.”

Defoe appears to be finding his feet at Rangers. It was always going to take a little while given that he had struggled to secure game-time at Bournemouth and the expectation at Ibrox is much greater.
But with Defoe now finding some better form, Alfredo Morelos playing arguably the best football of his Ibrox spell and Kyle Lafferty restoring some confidence with a goal of his own at the weekend, it appears that the likes of Dundee, Hamilton and Kilmarnock will not be the only teams that are torn apart by the Gers in the final weeks of the season.
