Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told Rangers TV that playmaker Ianis Hagi has returned to training in ‘incredible shape’.
The Gers returned to training earlier this week, gearing up for next season having seen the 2019-20 cut short due to the global pandemic.
Gerrard will be hoping to get his side ready for a big season. Celtic are now just one league title away from ten in a row, and Rangers will be desperate to prevent that happening.
Rangers will need to be clever in the transfer market in order to do that, and they have already struck one exciting deal by landing Hagi permanently.
The Romanian playmaker spent the second half of the season on loan at Rangers, having been in and out of the Genk side – and he made a big impact.
Hagi, 21, hit three goals and two assists in 12 games for Rangers, and they have now managed to sign him up full-time in a deal worth around £3million.
Now, Gerrard has suggested that Hagi is a ‘fantastic’ player and person, and admitted that he has come back to trianing in ‘incredible shape’, with his body fat and weight ‘perfect’.

Gerrard added that Rangers are trying to bulk Hagi up, getting him fitter and stronger ahead of his first full season at Ibrox.
“Ianis is a terrific asset and it’s great to have him here full-time now,” said Gerrard. “He’s a fantastic player and a fantastic human being who wants to learn and improve. Ianis has come back in incredible shape. His body fat and weight is perfect.”
“Right now we are ready to bulk him up a bit to get him fitter and stronger. He’s as excited as me and I am really looking forward to working with him,” he added.
