Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers won in the Europa League last night.

Coulibaly was given a start for Rangers against Osijek, and he helped the Ibrox side to a 1-0 win on their travels.
Coulibaly’s defensive qualities were very evident during the contest, and Gerrard was full of praise for the powerful midfielder after the match.
The Rangers boss said: “Lassana was majestic and he covered every blade of grass. He was tough, he won tackles, he won duels, he gave us energy and he broke play up for us.

“That is his first 90 minutes – can you imagine what he is going to be like after five or six performances and five or six games in his legs?”
Coulibaly replaced Ross McCrorie in Rangers’ starting line-up last night, and it seems unlikely that he will be taken out after such an impressive showing.
Rangers scored their goal through Alfredo Morelos, who converted an excellent James Tavernier cross.

Rangers now hold a healthy advantage ahead of the second leg of the tie at Ibrox next week.
Gerrard has now been in charge of Rangers for three games, and is yet to see his side concede a goal, with the Gers’ new look defence looking very strong.
