Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is keen to see Ryan Kent return to Ibrox this summer.

In comments reported by the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard has insisted that Rangers are doing everything they can to bring Ryan Kent back on loan, but added that the ball is now in the winger’s court.
Kent has become a key target for the Gers this summer after an incredibly impressive run of form during the second-half of last season. He showed promise in the months immediately after his arrival from Liverpool, but it was after the turn of the year that the winger showed that he was a game-changer.
Unsurprisingly, Rangers boss Gerrard wants him back for the coming campaign. It remains to be seen what his parent club’s plans are for Kent, but Gerrard – who admitted to being aware that the fans are desperate for an update – suggested that it is likely to come down to what the 22-year-old wants.
“I’m sure Jurgen will want to see Ryan and where he’s at. We’ll go from there and we’ll respect Liverpool,” he said, as reported by the Record.

“But I can assure the fans we’re doing everything we can to try to get Ryan back. The key thing that people need to understand is that Ryan has got to want this.
“It’s all right the fans wanting him, the staff wanting him, myself wanting him. But it’s Ryan’s decision.”

It would be a fantastic statement of intent for the Light Blues to bring Kent back to Ibrox this summer. The Liverpool Echo reported in March that the Champions League winners were set to demand more than £12 million before sanctioning a permanent exit, so getting him back on loan would be a brilliant piece of business.
And given that he is going to be able to enjoy a lot more first-team football by heading back to Ibrox, perhaps it would be little surprise if those around Kent were suggesting that he go for one more year on loan and prove a further point to his parent club.
