Ryan Kent started Rangers’ 2-0 win against Livingston in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday before going off injured.
Steven Gerrard has stated that Ryan Kent suffered a ‘bad dead leg’ during Rangers’ 2-0 win over Livingston in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Winger Kent was substituted in the second half for Sheyi Ojo, as Gerrard stated that the Liverpool loanee was ‘dangerous’ when he came on for his former Anfield teammate.
Since Kent made a switch to Rangers in the summer, he has suffered a number of setbacks with injuries, as it seems that this latest one isn’t anything to be worried about.
Speaking to Sky Sports Football (10/11/19 at 5:10 pm), Gerrard provided a positive update on Kent and shared his brief thoughts on Ojo’s display.
“It’s a bad dead leg,” Gerrard told Sky Sports. “It’s one that he tried to run off. But he said it was getting stiffer and stiffer, so we could see he wasn’t running properly so we had good substitutes to come on.
“I thought Sheyi come on and replaced him really well, he looked dangerous, ran in behind and kept stretching them, so I was pleased for him.”
It does seem that Kent will be fine despite coming off in the second-half as he seemingly just couldn’t carry on for that moment.
The international break has come at the right time as it will provide Kent and Rangers time to recover for what will be a busy festive period when players return from national duty.
The games have already been coming thick and fast both in the Premiership and in Europe for Gerrard and his players, as those not going on international duty will be grateful for the rest that will be coming up.
