Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard was pleased with Ibrox youngster Ross McCrorie’s performance at the weekend.

McCrorie featured for Rangers in their Scottish Cup fifth-round tie against Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock away from home at Rugby Park on Saturday.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as it finished in a goalless draw.
Rangers manager Gerrard has praised the performance of the Scottish youngster – who can also operate as a central defender – and has also hailed his displays against Aberdeen and Celtic.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website about McCrorie: “Certain games suit Ross. He was really good against Aberdeen and really good against Celtic, when we are looking for that enforcer.
“I thought in the second half, he was immense, so we are really pleased with him at the moment, and he has come back really strong.”

Gerrard’s aforementioned comments suggest just how highly he rates McCrorie, and why the youngster plays in the big matches.
The 20-year-old has done well for the Gers in matches against the big teams and on big occasions, and perhaps the Liverpool legend’s comments suggest why he did not let the youngster leave in the January transfer window.
The Scottish Sun claimed of Swansea City’s interest in McCrorie, while The Daily Record reported that Rangers had turned down a loan bid from Dundee for the 20-year-od.
