Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard was pleased with Liverpool-owned Ovie Ejaria’s performance at Ibrox.

Ejaria, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland, joined Rangers on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old midfielder started the Gers’ Europa League playoff round first-leg tie against Ufa at Ibrox on Thursday evening and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Rangers won 1-0, and manager and Liverpool legend Gerrard was impressed with the display produced by the England Under-21 international – who earns £104,000 per year as salary, according to Spotrac.com.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website about Ejaria: “I thought he was magnificent and I think that is his strongest 90 minutes that he has given us so far.
“I think we have seen a lot of flashes and a lot of halves, some good performances, but I think that’s his first real excellent performance that he’s announced against a good team. I thought he was excellent from start to finish.”

Progressing at Rangers
Gerrard’s aforementioned comments about Ejaria will interest Liverpool fans, as they underline the progress the former Sunderland loanee is making at Liverpool.
The Englishman is only 20 years of age, and the midfielder is still developing and progressing as a footballer.
The season is still in its early stages, and there is a lot more to come from Ejaria this campaign.
