Jordan Henderson won the Champions League with Liverpool at the weekend, and Rangers manager and his former Reds teammate Steven Gerrard has praised him.

Henderson lifted the Champions League trophy in Madrid at the weekend, as Liverpool won 2-0 against Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Gerrard, who was appointed the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018, is a Liverpool legend and one of the greatest footballers to have ever played for the Reds.
The former England international midfielder has raved about his former teammate Henderson, and has outlined what people do not noticed about the 28-year-old Liverpool and England international midfielder.
Gerrard told The Times about Henderson: “If I had to name someone I regard as the ultimate professional, then Jordan would come right at the top of the list. He is immaculate in the way he lives his life.
“Some people don’t see the stuff behind the scenes, the gym work, the way he eats, but he is an incredible role model. He is selfless. He puts himself at the back of the queue because he looks after everyone else first. He puts Jordan Henderson last.
“All of that is important but, of course, he is a top player as well. He has running power, you can trust him with the ball, has a good range of passing and, over the past few months, has risen to the challenge of pushing Liverpool forward and has come right into top form.”

Important player
Henderson is not a world-class midfielder, and despite being the Liverpool captain, the 28-year-old is not guaranteed a place in manager Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup.
However, the former Sunderland star has shown time and time again this season just how important he is to the team.
According to WhoScored, for Liverpool this season, Henderson made 21 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the Premier League, and eight starts and three substitute appearances in the Champions League.
