Steven Gerrard reacted on Instagram to Liverpool saying their final goodbyes to their training complex of over 70 years, Melwood.

The Rangers boss simply posted ‘memories’ added with a heart emoji, as a number of current and former players reacted to his post.

Ex-Liverpool man Jay Spearing wrote in the comments section: “Unreal place, people and memories.”

Whilst Jack Robinson added: “Some great memories there! I’ll never forget.”. Liverpool’s current goalkeeping coach, John Achterberg also wrote: “Shame it’s going some legends were there.”

Other players did also respond, such as Jordan Henderson with a heart emoji, Jamie Redknapp wrote ‘great memories’, whilst Daniel Agger and Jose Enrique posted similar responses.

The champions of England will now move to Kirkby in the hope of building new and more memories for one of the countries most historic clubs.

Whilst those at Melwood waited 30 years to become champions once again, they will be hoping that they don’t need to wait as long for the next set of titles that will come down the line.

It has to be questioned who the greatest player to have stepped foot onto that Melwood training pitch would be because a certain Stevie Gerrard is in for a shout.
