Lafferty featured for Rangers in their Europa League tie against FC Ufa at Ibrox on Thursday evening.
The 30-year-old forward did not start the playoff round first-leg tie, but the Northern Ireland international came on as a substitute in the 69th minute for Rangers.
The Gers won the match 1-0, thanks to Rangers defender Connor Goldson’s goal in the 41st minute.
Rangers manager Gerrard was pleased with the performance of Lafferty, who rejoined the Gers from Heart of Midlothian this week for a transfer fee reported by The Glasgow Evening Times to be worth £500,000.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website about Lafferty: “And to have Kyle in finally through the door, he’s had a big 24 hours but again I wanted to get him on the pitch to see if we could get that extra goal to give us that little bit more of a cushion. It wasn’t to be but I was pleased with his impact.”

Positive result
The 1-0 win at Ibrox has put Rangers in the driving seat in terms of progressing to the group stage of the Europa League.
The Gers cannot be complacent, though, as Ufa do have the quality to turn the tie around in the second leg, and Rangers will have to be on top of their game.
